Name: Iory
Age – ???
Gender – Female
RaceWatcher
Alignment - Radical

Appearance:
Iory's human form is that of a grinning woman standing at 6'4" with long lanky limbs that seem to swing about like liquid despite her bones that almost seem to poke out from her skin. Her hair, a silky white, dangling to her mid-back, is pulled back and french-braided. Her skin is a solid bronze, a strong contrast to her silvery hair. Two short stumps sit where her horns used to be. A red bandanna is usually wrapped about her head, concealing her broken horns rather efficiently. Some hair to the side of her face is beaded and left swinging beside her head. Her eyes are a stark yellow, almost glowing around her dark skin.

Iory wears no armor as it would hinder her speed and reflexes. Instead she dressed in a tight maroon sleeveless outfit with various belts around her upper body to keep the fabric close to her skin, leaving the cloth about her lower body flowing free. She also wears fingerless black gloves that extend up to her upper arm, also belted to keep them close to her skin, and matching leather boots that climb up to mid thigh. Various pouches are strapped to the belts about her torso.

Iory never seems to revert back to her original form.

Personality:
Iory has always been more talkative than the typical Watcher. Especially towards others that don't belong to her race. Some might even describe her as friendly. The smile on her face tells as much. She is polite and a conversationalist. However, her smile holds the hints of malice. She has never understood the reserved and hidden nature of the Watchers, considering she was born after the massacre back in the ancient times. Her ties with people are what drives her. However, the moment the worth of someone diminishes, Iory won't waste a moment to ditch them. Or even better, rob them then ditch them. To her wealth is power. In battle Iory is ruthless and absolutely loves to taunt her opponents as she fights. Iory favors torture over a swift defeat and can turn a blind eye on any ailing comrade to ensure her own safety. Shameless and without pride, Iory would toss a small child into the battlefield if it allowed her to escape. In the face of others, however, Iory would maintain the face of an angel. The only exception to this rule seems to be August, the one man whom she trusts with all her being, perhaps the only one she has left to trust.

History:
Iory had never been very fond of life upon Tranquility. She lived during the period where the Watchers forbade any kinds of interaction down upon Gaea. Due to her ever talkative nature, hanging around a bunch of old geezers who seemed to be interested in nothing but themselves was such a bore for her. Iory had taken to pranks and the like, around Tranquility which had immediately antagonized her against the rest of her race. It was right about the time Iory had discovered her ability to pass through solid objects that she first met August. She did not witness his birth but he was brought to her one day badly burned and injured. They told her to care for him until he recovered, perhaps as punishment, perhaps as a lesson to teach her the burden of care. Iory never had a chance to question it. The amount of chaos on Tranquility, as tiny as it was with Iory running around, practically vanished once August was taken into her care.

Iory had grown intrigued by August's ideals and, being the person he was around the most, August often ranted to her about a vision he had and the frustration of having no one act upon them. It didn't take long for Iory to join him, once his caretaker, now his right hand. Once August learned of Iory's ability, he sent her to steal several documents on harvesting energy from the World Stream, a document that had been locked away for fear of the damage it would incur on the planet. Iory had succeeded, but as she was escaping, several Watchers had discovered her.

Pursuit had cost her both her horns but she had managed to reach August. The documents were in tatters, their plan in ruins, and every Watcher had their eyes locked on them. They had no choice but to flee Tranquility. Even down on the lower lands of Gaea, Iory has remained by August's side.

Weapons:
Lion's Tail – The characteristic dagger and chain, although her weapon substitutes the heavy chain with a lighter and stronger steel wire that is retractable from a round box-like object attached to a belt at her side. The wire can extend 50 feet in length and is usually attached to the end of a doubled edged dagger of which she can throw. She also carries three more identical daggers on her person (one sheathed at her shoulder, and two strapped to her sides). The wire is durable and won't snap from tension but can easily be cut with a strong blade. (2)

Abilities:
True Form - All Watchers can switch between their human forms and true forms upon will. Transformation takes but a second and there is no cool down time. This does not take stamina. Being in their true form generally raises magic and range (+1) but decreases their attack and defense (-1). Values cannot go below 1. (0)

Icon of a Phantom – Iory's primary skill is the ability to manipulate the magnetic fields. Since atoms are mostly empty space, deactivating the magnetic fields of the atoms in her body would allow her to sift through solid objects. This gives the appearance of her walking through walls and such, thus the name Phantom. However she can also spread the area of effect to whatever her skin is in contact with (walking out of a bank with a bag of money). I've separated this into sections for easier reference.

Areas of effect: Icon of a Phantom only affects one area at a time. She cannot make her arm and foot pass through objects simultaneously unless they were in contact with each other. The size of the area depends on the volume of the area. At top performance, she can stretch the area to encompass half her body. Absolute concentration is needed to increase the area, but since that would mean sacrificing her speed, her reflex, and even her vision, Iory hardly goes any further. Whenever an area's magnetic field is deactivated, Iory's movement is somewhat reduced dependent on the volume of the field. Iory can also move the area of the field to some degree while it's been deactivated.

Contact with Other Objects: As mentioned before, Iory can deactivate the magnetic field of any object she is in contact with. Deactivating the magnetic field of her clothes takes no stamina but any other object requires a bit of concentration. The maximum volume limit still applies (so she can't deactivate the entire top half of her body as well as a treasure chest in her arms as that would exceed the maximum limit) but deactivating the field of an object requires time. Cast time for a small object (purse, handbag, dagger) is a second, larger objects (broad swords, spears, shields) up to five. Contact must be made at all times otherwise the spell would break the moment she releases the object.

Time constrictions: Iory can only maintain Icon of a Phantom for a short amount of time. Activating it takes but a second but she can maintain it for no more than one minute, five if it doesn't require her to move. If the time limit runs out and the magnetic field is forcibly returned to normal, she must wait at least 10 seconds before altering the field again. However, if she chooses to return the field to normal before the time limit reaches an end, the cool down time is reduced to five.

Defining Objects: Also, Iory can only pass through objects which she can define and must be aware of them before passing through. This usually includes thinking about what she must pass through. However, since the composition of fabrics is generally the same, she can pass through those with ease. Organic material is also easy to move through. However, metals are more difficult as they also hinder movement as she moves through them. For Iory, it's similar to moving through water.

Manipulating an activated field: Iory can also grab specific objects inside another object. The only case in which she uses this is in regards to bodies. If she had deactivated the field of, say, her hand, she can choose to reactivated the atoms of her palm to create a surface in which she can grab, say, a heart. Of course doing something as intricate as this requires her upmost attention. Aside from throwing taunts and moving her arms about, Iory's movements are next to none.

Running past the time limit: If Iory ever does run past her time limit and the magnetic fields return to normal while still inside an object, the body will violently reject supposed foreign objects, resulting in a rather painful experience. She will become stuck inside whatever object she intended to pass through. If she's unfortunate enough to have her organs trapped, the damage would be severe if not fatal. Of course she can reactivate the field after her cool down time has passed and thus sift her atoms out, the damage is still collected. By consequence, Iory usually avoids remaining in objects longer than she needs to. (50)

Combat Overview:
Needless to say, with the lack of armor and the unstable nature of her body, Iory's defense is so incredibly poor that a single bludgeon or fist to her chest would knock her out almost instantly. For the same reason, Iory can't throw a punch to save her life as her skin actually tends to bruise easily. Of course because of her Icon of a Phantom, Iory is rather fearless against warriors as she can simply have their weapons pass through her without harm. She enjoys taunting even more so than the art of fighting. Her favorite method of killing is actually not the use of her knife and chain. She prefers to come in close, dip her hands through her opponent's chest and seize their heart, either ripping it out entirely or stopping its beat with a simple squeeze. Her high speed and evasion is actually one of the reasons Iory has so mastered the trade of theft but, by contrast, thievery has taught her retreat before defeat. She will run the moment the favors dip against her and ditch any comrade of hers to save her own life, unless, of course, it is August. In that case she would gladly give her life for his.

Strengths – High Speed and Evasion, Icon of a Phantom
Weaknesses – Next to nothing Defense and Attack.
