Name: Liednier

Level: ???

Gender: Male

Class: Wavemaster

Appearance: Liednier takes on the appearance of a timid young boy, an image that wholly contrasts with the deviousness of a hacker. Short and round faced with short cropped black hair. His eyes are golden, a stark contrast to his midnight hair, but despite that his eyes often hold a melancholy glaze. Like most Wavemasters, Liednier wears no armor whatsoever, donning a green robe with elbow cut sleeves over traveler's pants. His hands are fitted into black gloves a few sizes too large for his small hands. He walks slightly hunched over, staring at his feet and often lost in his own thoughts. His entire visage suggests that his IRL age is still pubescent.

Personality: Liednier isn't one with many faces. He wears his emotions on his sleeves and is easily surprised and swayed by others. Although an online game usually brings out the bolder side of any person, Liednier still acts like the shy lonely boy he is in real life. Even in Fragment, Liednier finds it hard to make friends and would much rather hang around AI of the world. Liednier acts far more mature for his age than expected but more often than not slips back into his childish reveries or helplessness when emotional. Vastly dependent on others yet unsure how to ask someone for help, his entire being seems to radiate with a kind of desperation and need constantly being suppressed by a desire to stand on his own two feet.

History: Liednier's IRL name is Ootsuka Takuma and, as suggested, he is only ten years old. His father works as a programmer for the Altimit OS and his mother a graphic designer for a low-key advertising firm. It was his parents that introduced Liednier to the MMORPG Fragment, partly under the guise of 'family time' even when his parents were away and partly as an excuse to keep the boy occupied with his time. Having spent most of his free time browsing through his father's programming books, the boy was moderately versed in code.

During one of their early escapades, they came across an undefeatable towering monster armed with a red staff. It cast a spell that had caught both his parents and speared them through. No matter how real the graphics made the game seem, hearing his parents scream proved to be his reality. The monitor began to flash wildly, inducing seizures in his parents yet leaving the boy unharmed and not long after they both collapsed, foaming at the mouth and rigid. The computer screen had shut off. Both his parents were spared from death, but still they never awoke after that incident. Liednier was left in the care of his drunken and rebellious older brother who used the press wholly to fulfill the childhood fantasy of appearing on TV.

The event wasn't centered on the Ootsuka household and had happened to seven other people. The media named the event the Deadly Flash, a technical malfunctioning. But the story progressed no further than that. The new reporters eventually stopped coming, his brother eventually stopped returning, and Liednier stopped attending school. He would often spend his days away on Fragment, the very thing he feared, clinging onto the slim hope that his parents might return. It was during this time that he created his first AI, Riyumi. Befriending the childlike sprite, it seemed Liednier had given up hope on finding his parents. But as he excelled in writing code, eventually he took on the task of destroying the one thing that had robbed his parents from him. A name he had heard during that incident: Morganna.

It would be Ootsuka Takuma that would unleash the virus into the network that was eventually deemed Pluto's Kiss.

Liednier's story unfolds in the roleplay Fragment.

Equipment: He carries a simple staff with the tip curled into a helix shape. It is a low leveled weapon, the first any Wavemaster gets when first entering Fragment. His weapon appears and disappears in a flash of light and is never seen on his person while not in battle.

Ability: Liednier's true ability comes from his knowledge of code. He can tinker with just about anything in the game as long as he's familiar with it's data makeup or its naming convention. He can change graphics, change class requirements for weapons, even use skills that don't belong to a Wavemaster class. It is this skill that, despite his low level, has made him virtually indestructible to any monster.
